One grand prize winner will receive $250 and two others will be awarded $100 each with thanks to the ethics centre.

INFORMATION
Each year, we run the Ethics Olympiad Case Writing Competition, inviting students to contribute original cases for consideration across our Junior, Middle, Senior and Tertiary divisions. Selected submissions may be included in future case sets. Monetary prizes are generously sponsored by The Ethics Centre.
ELIGIBILITY
For the upcoming 2026 Ethics Olympiad Case Writing Competition participating students will need to be enrolled in a school that is a member of the Ethics Olympiad. (Click here for the list of member schools)
Any student from a member school is welcome to enter the competition but they must have the support of a teacher/coach at their school.
CRITERIA
Does the case clearly articulate the ethical issue and its ethical complications?
Does the case explicitly consider at least two viewpoints in a balanced way?
Apart from possible inclusion of your case in future Ethics Olympiads one major prize winner will receive $250 AUD.

RULES
SUBMISSION LIMITS
Students may submit more than one case. However, a maximum of five cases may be submitted per school, whether individually or collaboratively.
If a student submits multiple cases, only one will be eligible to win a prize.
COLLABORATION
Collaborative submissions are permitted, with due credit given to all contributors.
To simplify administration, one person must submit the entry and take responsibility for any distribution of prize money.
ORIGINALITY
All submissions must be original work.
Appropriately cited excerpts, such as short news quotes, may be included.
VIDEO CASES (JUNIOR & MIDDLE SCHOOL)
Video submissions must be edited and include credits.
If selected, permission will be required to make the video available to schools via YouTube.
OWNERSHIP & USE
All submissions become the property of the Ethics Olympiad.
Entries may be used, in full or in part, in future case sets, including those not selected as prize winners. Cases may be edited after evaluation.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Entries will be assessed on overall merit, the strength and interest of the moral issue presented, quality of writing, and suitability for an Ethics Olympiad.
